How To Create Your Own Cloud Network For Free

Cloud computing is very popular in almost every domain. Whether its web hosting, online storage or a social network service, almost everyone is using cloud computing to deliver the best with minimum hassle. Deploying a cloud network may seem a daunting task, but its not that complex, provided you have basic knowledge of Linux system administration.

Cloud network

CloudStack is an open source software that can build small as well as large cloud computing network. Remember, the software itself is free, but you need the necessary hardware to implement the cloud computing network.

CloudStack requires 64-bit computing environment and runs on x86 architecture running a Linix server (RHEL/CentOS 5.4+, RHEL6, Fedora 14 or Ubuntu 10.04 LTS) installation. Companies and organizations around the world are using this highly optimized and efficient software to power their public and private cloud networks. CloudStack has a rich AJAX-powered administration interface to manage all the resources of the cloud that makes the administration task extremely easy.

Thanks to the scalability of CloudStack, adding additional resources (virtual servers, storage) is very easy. CloudStack also has a powerful API, to deliver custom solutions to the end-users. It also intelligently load-balance and dynamically allocate resources to the end-users adhering to the defined policies. Detailed event and server logs ensure you don't miss anything that may cause your cloud to malfunction. I've tested it on a friend's RHEL server and the whole installation process took less than an hour, even when we did it for the first time and that too reading the documentation within that hour.
