Since Google+ was introduced in the last week of June 2011, its user-base has increased in leaps and bounds. Initially, it was released as a private beta service that was only accessible through invites. Still, it was able to attract more than 25 million users within a month. This growth has continued and now it's breaking all the records.
Recently Google has opened Google Plus service for public without any need of invites. Within three days it has acquired around 15 million users. This brings the tally around 40-45 million users, which is an impressive figure that Google+ has managed to grab within 100 days of service launch.
In these 3 months, several new features have also been rolled out to further strengthen the user experience. Some of these features are introduced after getting feedback from actual users. Here are the latest features and enhancements rolled out by Google+ team.
Infinite scrolling for streams - Now you'll not find the 'More' link to further navigate the stream in reverse chronological order. As you scroll downwards, it automatically fetches the content and expands the stream downwards.
Photo download - A handy download link within the posts has been introduced to easily grab pictures posted in the stream.
Real-time scrolling comments - This is an awesome feature that collapses large comment threads and scroll through latest 4 updates in real-time.
Circle sharing - This excellent feature lets you share your entire circles with your network as well as extended circles. For privacy reasons, the name of the circle is not revealed.
Cityville - New addition to Google games - One of the most popular games of Zynga network 'Cityville' has been finally added to Google+ games. This will attract good number of users.
Google+ search - This much needed feature is going to be used by large number of users. Now you can search for users, posts and topics through entire Google+ ecosystem. You can think of it as a personal search engine for Google+.
