Abhinav, I've compiled this list primarily focusing on those CMS's used for building traditional web sites. Now we all know WP is a powerful CMS and can also be used to build a kind of traditional web site. However, a normal user mostly use it for creating a blog. I excluded it because soon I'm going to post a list of "Best Blogging CMS". WP will be first in that list.

Well, for integrating social features, I would highly recommend using Plone. But remember, it requires a bit proficient web developer to play with it. It's extremely powerful CMS. Second choice is dotCMS, which is relatively simple to use and offers social features via extensions.

Thank you for list that includes TYPO3. We've found TYPO3 to be an excellent choice not just for the internationalization needs but also for workflow AKA versioning and ease to create new websites and landing pages as well. While it's not a social system from scratch it can handle those features as well.
